7/23/10: Gym-ing in the rain.

Day 16 is a wrap. We filmed at the park, a gym scene, as you will see from the pictures. Now, I know some people are going, "I have no idea what the hell is going on in this movie... A gym scene?" Yes. A gym scene. And just this once, I will tell you what's going on... Dan's character is a high school gym teacher. Boom... there you go. We had 4 students on hand, and they were all terrific: Sarah Gill, Rachel Canete, Colleen Mernar, and Sean Feuer. Thanks to them, and to Christina Garced for helping us book them.

The star of the day was, no doubt, Dan Gregory. I wrote the part for Dan, specifically, but I knew that Dan hadn't really played a part like this one before as far as I knew... So, I was thrilled to see him knock it out of the park on today's shoot especially. The footage is hysterical.

The end is in sight... 5 days of shooting left of principle photography in the next 7 days. Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, & Friday. Some of those are, theoretically, our most difficult shoots. They are certainly our most ambitious. We are doing really well on indiegogo. We are up to $4,950, which is great. Seriously, we love our fans and are so grateful. There are about 26 days left to donate. So, please donate what you can to help us make the next five days and post production as great as possible. And I don't want to oversell it, but if you have the money, if you donate $1,000 you get two invites to the wrap party with a great group of people... which should be a blast.

Stay tuned!

“Blaming George Romero” Two Weeks Later

Two weeks ago today, we began our fund raising and online campaign for “Blaming George Romero.”

Today, we are at $1,000 on Indiegogo.com. So, thank you very much to everyone who has already contributed. It is because of you, that we are going to be able to do this. To people who haven’t donated, for whatever reason, even the smallest amount will help us in our endeavors. If you’re still not convinced, stay tuned over the next few weeks. And whether you donated or not, please continue (or start) to help us spread the word. Suggest our facebook page to your friends. Email friends and family the links to our indiegogo page and our website. This is a grassroots campaign, and we are counting on you for help in spreading the word as much as we are counting on you for donations.

In other news, I would like to introduce you to the Official "Blaming George Romero" blog today: http://blameromero0.blogspot.com Check us out as we update throughout pre-production, production, and post-production. Today on the blog, and soon in our albums on facebook, you can see some of the promotional photos we took last week. I think they came out really good. Take a look and feel free to comment on the pictures. Which ones do you think should be the 8X10 that we are giving out? Which should be on the tee shirt? We are asking you, the fans, to let us know what you think!

On Tuesday, we will reveal some teaser one sheet posters of the main characters. I have seen the rough cuts of these, and I think that they’re pretty fantastic.

Shortly after that, we will be putting up our official movie poster. Brad Resnick is the man behind the scenes on all of this stuff, and he is really knocking it out of the park. I think you’ll all be pleased. I know I am.

The “What Would Bruce Campbell Do?” Bracelets are due to come in tomorrow (Monday, May 24th) and I, for one, am really excited to get one. Everyone who is set to get one will receive theirs shortly thereafter. If you haven’t already donated $25+, and want one of these, donate as soon as you can. The initial batch order is limited. We will order more, but it will take awhile to receive them. If you want one soon, make sure to donate soon.

In the days and weeks to come, we will have more exciting announcements, pictures, and videos.

Stay tuned.

P.S.- Subscribe to the blog by adding your email address in the box to the right. We'll send you an email every time we update!
